hey guys,
this hairloss condition is quite unique in the way it can mess with our minds and our lives. Im starting to get distressed again, but not just for me, but for all the other guys i read on here desperate for a solution.

The following point is a little pesimistic, but aren't the current big 3 all just by-products of something else. Not actually designed for treatment of hairloss? Kind of like teflon (thanks NASA). I have read that finasteride is for prostate cancer, nizoral for dandruff or some other scalp condition and can't remember what minoxidil was for but wasn't created with hairloss treatment in mind. If thats the case then thats a pretty disappointing effort really considering they are our big 3. Sure we got a few guys like Dr Lee running around coming up with the odd hairloass potion, but really, the way things are going it dont look good for the next 10 years even.

To cut to the chase, i read recently that a consortium of billionares are offering huge rewards for anyone or any organisation who can solve certain problems with the objective being to advance medicine, techonolgy and various other things faster. Apparently in one reward offering, 250 million was spent in total by various scientists trying to win the 10 million prize. There was such a competition to put the first commercial craft in space, and it has now happened thanks (read about virigin space travel) to these kinds of incentives.

Wish someone could offer scientists a huge reward to develop a specialist hairloss drug that would halt MBP dead in its tracks with good effect, or potentially even reverse it, although this would probably be less likely. Unfortunately hairloss is not really deemed serious enough to warrant charitable funding for research, so why dont we do it all oursleves.

Ok great we all chip in a 5'er, just need 2 million of us, and there we will have our prize money and we will all be able to keep our hair in a year or two.

hmmm, i knew this idea sounded better in my head

re:

Merck was aware of the potential benefits of finasteride for hairloss long before the FDA trials began.
