What do we know about finasteride increasing testosterone on the scalp? Is this rumor or have studies shown this? Is it also true that testosterone affects the front more than the rest of the scalp?
Because it isn't being converted into DHT, finasteride raises the level of circulating T by 10-20% (still within the physiologic range). I'd say the DHT follicle 'damage' averted by finasteride is far more significant than any associated with increased levels of T. It's not something that seems to affect the pseudohermaphrodites with no 5AR2.
It's probably a true upregulation of testosterone production (I know you know that, Pondle...I just mention it for the benefit of any newbies who are reading this).
