Hey not been on here for a year or so, My current regime im on is fincar 5mg, that i cut each tablet into about 8 pieces and take every second day.

I started off taking 1/4 of a tablet every day with success for first 6 months but then thought i could save money after reading you don't need to take much dosage block hairloss, so i started taking very small "bits" of tablets every second day for around 9 months or so.

Recently i have noticed my front to be thinning very slightly, especially left corner which is strange.

My question is will it make a difference if i up the dosage to 1/4 everyday or is it just that the hairloss is catching up, or shredding? or should i add nizoral, hair thickener, any suggestions? :dunno:

i would up the finasteride to as much as you think you can, no more then 1.25 per day but you have room to go up and it should be more effective, adding nizoral wont hurt either.

finasteride does have near flat dose effect after 0.25. They keyword here is NEAR. 1mg is more effective at lowering DHT then 0.25mg is, just not by much. It's all preference really, right now I take 1mg every other day, but I the next batch I buy I will probably get 1mg and split them up to 0.25mg a day just to try it.

If you are not experiencing sides, then I guess it would be fine to up the dose, but that is your choice. In my opinion, it's all a matter of figuring out where your hormones sit naturally and tweaking for hair-loss prevention with screwing yourself up. Everyone has their sweet spot.

Adding Nizoral is almost always a good choice, I use it twice a week, alternating it with a copper peptide shampoo. If you haven't added nizoral yet, do so. It's easy to use, takes almost no time and you can add it to your normal routine without to much trouble.

I use folligen copper peptides. The jury is still out for me on how great copper peptides are, and since I started finasteride recently, I decided to hold back on copper peptides creams and such since I would not know if the benefits I get are from the peptides, or finasteride. But I did decide to get the shampoo, now I don't know if it regrows anything. I do think it thickens up my hair a little bit and I love the way it makes my hair and scalp feel. It's also a very mild shampoo, which nizoral recommends to use a mild shampoo when you're not using it.

Do I think switching from jasons shampoo to folligen is worth it? Probably, yes. I use to use Jasons biotin shampoo and Tea tree shampoo, but replaced it with folligen shampoo and I don't regret it. Give it a shot and see what you think.

If you do decide to try it, this is the cheapest I have found it.

thanks man, i've been curious about copper peptides for awhile, but with minoxidil and spironolactone apps twice a day never could seem to find away to fit it in. i'm pretty sure to be most effective you need to leave in longer then just shampoo? but on the other hand, I really like the way my hair feels after nizoral, jasons is good but it's just not the same, so if i could find something to alternate with nizoral that gave my hair and scalp a clean feeling then that may be worth it alone and if thickening or regrowth comes from it it would be a nice bonus!!!

I've heard of some people having better results with minoxidil foam then regular minoxidil. Don't know why, maybe something to do with the delivery. If you're looking for a shampoo to make your head feel as good as nizoral, copper peptides probably could it. Can't hurt anyway. Oh, and I hear users like the feel Revivogen shampoo gives them too.

I originally looked into copper peptides as a possible alternative to minoxidil. So I've been, and will be continuing to keep on eye on it. Once I feel finasteride has done the majority of what it will do for me, whatever that may be, I will try out folligen cream on my hairline and see what happens.

i started using spironolactone on the hairline about 2 months ago, a little too early to tell, but feel like i've gotten some thickening just behind the hairline, i've tried the rogaine foam in the past and found it very difficult to apply to the scalp since i still have enough hair to get in the way (it's a good problem to have) but if it might work better on the hairline i'd give that a shot since i still have a couple bottles and have no problems getting to the scalp at the hairline (unfortunately).
maybe i try the shampoo and give spironolactone a few more months to see what it will do and if not satisfied give folligen cream or similar a try.
