hi all I have been on finasteride for 9 years it’s worked great for me but the last 6 months I have noticed I am loosing hair quickly. Assuming my body has built up a tolerance to the drug. I am thinking I might stop taking it for a month and start up again to see if this kick starts it to working again. Has anyone had any success or feedback with this?

If you stop you'll most likely lose hair at a MUCH more rapid pace. 9 years is a long time for the drug to work an you're lucky. I think, if you're willing, you'd have a great response to adding dutasteride at this point. Have you had any side effects for the past 9 years, and if so, when did they start to show?

Thanks for the reply. This happened to me about 3 years ago and I went on to dutasteride for about 2 months I got a few bad side affects so went back to finasteride and the finasteride started working as good again. I stopped taking finasteride at the start of the year for a few weeks to give my body a break and was hoping it would start working again but sadly it didn’t . Was considering taking a months break this time but worried it won’t work when I go back on to it. No real side affects from finasteride. Cheers

I think I have just posted one . Thanks
Your hair was at that point when you first started finasteride? Maintaining for 9 years is great... Do people notice your hairloss?

When you say maintaining for 9 years is great, I thought studies showed 90% maintained for 10 years? Wouldn't his experience be average?

I'd look at dustasteride.

I've been on it for one year, and I'm well below baseline...

I'm sorry.
What Norwood are you, that Norwood were you when you started finasteride?
My recession isn't much of a problem, I'm probably about a nw2. My crown is my main concern, and since getting on finasteride I started fully diffuse thinning... Check out my update thread and let me know what you think, there are a ton of photos there.

My hair is better at the back now from when I started the front side is a lot worst then when I started but this has been a quick escalation over the last few months. Going to try a derma roll to see if that helps. I got bad testicle pain on dutasteride.

Have you changed anything in your diet recently? Like consuming creatine
