Finasteride Shedding and Accelerating male pattern baldness.. Truth or BS?

Hey guys I am about to start using finasteride. Just curious about a few things before..

I know shedding is normal once you start finasteride and it typically varies a bit from person to person, but I'm curious to hear what you guys have to say about your experience. When did you start shedding once you started taking finasteride, and approximately how long did it last?

Also on a side note I am a bit scared to start it because I have heard a couple cases on the forum say that once they ended up worse after starting finasteride and never returned to baseline. I have read many of the side effects of finasteride but I actually never heard of this.. is it possible that finasteride can actually accelerate a person's male pattern baldness? Or does this statement have no merit behind it?

shedding can last up to 3 months after starting taking it. If it in very rare cases causes people to lose hair faster, who cares? Chances are it will increase your hair/maintain it which has been demonstrated
