Finasteride question

I've been taking this for 6 months now and developed a itchy scalp probably 2.5 months ago , I've read someone having success to getting rid of the itch by increasing his finasteride dosage from 1.25 to 2.5 .. I have 1 mg tablets was wondering if it would be a good idea to take one morning and night to see if it helps my itch .. I currently don't have any sides so I feel my body can handle this medication .. Just worried about onset of shedding although I'm already shedding a lot btw my hair looks absolutely ****ty honestly probably just as bad as baseline I feel my male pattern baldness is to aggressive which is causing my itchy scalp for I only experienced this while on treatment... Any thoughts???

Why don't you try using the Nizoral shampoo once every 3 days? Seems like it helps or resolves this itching problem (?)

I've used nizoral 1% on and off twice a week when this itch began I jumped on 2% and its hasn't done **** either , I actually think it makes my hair look like **** and dried my scalp to the point it peels don't know if I should quit using it or not theirs so much misleading information some people consider it part of the big 3 others say it ruined their hair and others say ride it out it will get better ... I'm pretty much just using this crap cause I don't know what else to use or do

I'm only on 1mg and I have been taking min foam for 7 months , I'm asking about increasing my finasteride dosage to help dht scalp itch

I wouldn't up the dosage at only 6 months. Try medicated shampoos while on finasteride to see if you can address your scalp issue. Make sure your are getting enough rest and stress is under control. Personally, my dermatitis/psoriasis flares up if I'm super stressed or not getting good sleep. Just as an FYI the official propecia trials made all participants use neutrogena t gel coal tar shampoo during the first 2 years of the study to control scalp issues.

If otc medicated shampoos do not help your scalp time for a derm visit.

I went to my derm because of the itch and also cause I needed another refill for finasteride , she's an idiot tho barely observe my scalp and said finasteride is good for regrowth and mino for stabilization .. I only go to my derm for my prescription basically

Then I think it's pretty clear you need to find a better derm to consult. Like any field there are good and bad professionals.
