Im 19 y/o and have started noticing a receeding hairline torwards my temple. I have longer hair and the receeding hairline is giving me that 'flap' look poofing out on the side. Yes i still have a pretty full head of hair but its shedding quick and im considering finasteride. I have an older brother thats pretty much bald 22 and a little one that is 17 and showing sighns so it is in the genetics. I want to do something before its too late and finasteride might be my answer.

Get on finasteride ASAP, start with .25 mg day , if you have no sides increase to .50 then up to 1mg day

Don't just go on any medication unless you see a doctor first. Check with a dermatologist or your family doctor and they will prescribe it if needed. Self medication is never a good idea.

Most Dr's just look at you and write the Propecia prescription. If you want a full blood workup with hormones you have to ask them and probably tell them which tests you need

Exactly - mine just took a look at me , said OK and wrote a prescription (which I never actually used because I decided to buy generic)
The important thing is that your doctor knows you are on the med.
