finasteride - no good whatsoever

Man, im disappointed.

I really think ive given finasteride a fair run at things. Ive been on it 15 months now.

During that time not only has my hair deteriorated but im pretty sure its almost accelerated in its decline.

Surely after 15 months i have ascertained with certainty im not a responder?

Anyway, sad times. Nanominox will help my hair steady off during the sheds but in all the traffic is ultimately one way - towards baldness. My current aim is to keep a decent hairstyle (despite the diffuse thinning and clear balding) for a few years to i reach say, 27, and then cut it very short. Sad because with finasteride i was hoping to hit 30-35 before going that direction.

Anyone got any other long term potentially potent hair maintainance treatments? dutasteride isn't even an option folks!

cheers

Give spironolactone a go? Why is dutasteride not an option for you?

because i started feeling libido effects from finasteride, cant be arsed with that from dutasteride. Just dont want to go there.

spironolactone. Messy :( Maybe if companies could make some decent forms of stuff like spironolactone would it be more feasible.

Sorry to throw the lifestyle thing in here again, but I would double check for allergies, food sensitivities, thyroid problems, stress, excessive sexual activity, poor diet, stuff like that :)

All that stuff makes a difference IMO, and if finasteride isn't working...

then either your follicles are simply too sensitive, or it isn't male pattern baldness (but I'll take your word for it that it is), or it could be something like inflammation or something which is making it that much harder to tackle. Brian Simonis is the guru on that not me :)

Throwing Curcumin, Resveratrol and vitamin D in the mix with Finasteride as well as a great diet (cut gluten, for example) and refined lifestyle might cut inflammation, and apparently certain things even downregulate the androgen receptor or some stuff like that, so... I dunno, maybe that could work.
