What are the potential penalties for having Finasteride in any form shipped to a personal home address from out of the USA or within the country without a prescription?

If it gets seized at customs can there be any repercussions for possession of Finasteride or attempting to import it in personal dosages or does it just get filed away with no action?

I live in the NY/NJ are if it makes any difference.

I order from 4rx.com They always attach a note to the package saying that it was sold with a script, or it is for personal use and not for resale. You have to have a script to buy drugs in the USA, but these drugs are technically purchased in India. Therefore, the same laws don't apply.

My original doctor who prescribed me Proscar will not renew the prescription because of a recent class action suit against Propecia. The dermatologist I went to gave the same story and I do not have health insurance as it is so these visits are costing me a pretty penny at a difficult financial time for myself. I mainly am just looking to maintain the shadow I have when I buzz my hair down with a #1 guard.

I have seen you recommend that site many times on these forums but I have also read some bad reviews from other people regarding the ethics and promptness of that company. I don't mean to be rude as I am sure you are just trying to be helpful, but I am wary when I see someone promote a link so many times.

I am solely looking for info on what repercussions could be if the shipment is seized with my name and address on it. I know it is not a scheduled drug and that it is non-narcotic, but am not sure if I could face fines or and allegations of trying to import a drug for the purpose of selling it.

Have you ever stopped to think why I promote that site? Quite possibly because the finasteride that I've bought from them has done its job for 3+ years. Find another one of those posts and actually click on the last link that I put in there for my story.

I have over 300 posts here, I'm not just here to push a product, I'm here to try and help people that are fighting the same battle as I am. I don't get anything from 4rx for referring people to them. The only things I've ever gotten from them are legit drugs, and fast shipping.

Fair enough. The question about the legality still is unanswered, not sure if anyone here has had any run-ins with the law.

Omg it's not like you're trying to import a kilo of cocaine.

Nothing happens. If it gets intercepted by customs you will receive a letter asking if you want to dispute the seizure. End of story.

Today I went in to get my hand x-ray'd (might have fractured it shooting a scene 2 weekends ago). The Doctor asked me if I was on any medications. I said "Umm....propecia".
Doctor: "Ok, propecia. And who prescribes that for you."
Me: "Errrr....no one...."
Doctor: *laughs* "Don't worry, I know plenty of people that go the overseas route."

Correct, like acting. I'm not a bigshot yet, and probably never will be...but I do have a gig in Chicago next month and then a 2 months shoot in New Orleans in September. I plan on making the move to LA in September of '12...and we'll see where it goes from there!
