Finasteride is working for me (4 months in)

I'm 29, my hair loss isn't terrible...but it's plenty enough to notice on the crown of my head...especially outside and under light. I have no completely bald areas though, etc...just thinning.

I started finasteride treatment about four months ago. I went through the standard "shocking" sheds that worried me a lot. I hit a really good shed at about 4 weeks, another good one at about 8 weeks, and then a smaller one at 12 weeks (I even had to buzz my head on the second shed, it was driving me crazy...it was pretty thin, and I could completely see the "old man" pattern starting to take shape on my head).

Now that I'm coming up on 15-16 weeks (4 months), the crown of my head has improved dramatically. And my temples and hairline are even looking better. I'm not shedding much at all anymore, and the few hairs that I am shedding are looking so much thicker than they used to be. It's coming back to the thickness that I had 3-4, 5'ish years ago. It's not quite there yet, but I can't wait to see how things look at the 1 year mark. I should have taken progress pictures, but I wasn't motivated enough to.

My advice is stay the course, and make the decision to stick with your treatment for at least a year no matter what.

I'm also using Rogaine, which I'm sure is important in helping me reverse things too.
