People have been taking finasteride for hairloss for over 25 years and I'm just amazed that everyone talks about the fear of sexual side effects, yet no one mentions the fact that finasteride can significantly worsen hairloss. It must be very rare. By nine months I lost more hair than what I had been losing for the couple years when I was slowly thinning, but the worst thing is it made my existing hair grow in very fine all . I've never seen individual hair strands so thin. We all know the negative psychological effects of hairloss but self inflicted damage feels a hundred times worse. I keep reading posts from new users who are having a negative response to finasteride
and the advice given is always 'ride it out' or 'it gets worse before it gets better'. Well, I'm here to say that it doesn't always get better and may just continue to get worse.

Well when no one understands how male pattern baldness works lowering DHT can have unpredictable effects on some people. We dont even know for sure what DHT even really does long term if the pseudo hermaphradite model was right or not.
Yes it must be very rare for finasteride to make male pattern baldness worse then had you not taken it, but again how do ARs respond in different people? Does the higher T hurt hair in some men over others? No one knows so anything is possible

It's quite strange, my hair seems to have stopped or at least decreased in shedding. I don't see anywhere near as much hair come out in the shower, however it still looks thinner than ever, could this be the start of regrowth?
