Does it make a difference?

Heard from someone that crushed finasteride will result in less absorbing into the body system. How true?

If there is any difference it is so minor that it will have no effect on its efficacy.

Imagine you had an Apple and Orange. You ate the Apple and the Orange in the normal way.

Then the next time you juiced the Apple and Orange. Do you think you would get the same benefit from eating them whole or by juicing them.

I don't really know why I asked this question but it just sounded like the right thing to do.

You get more benefit from eating the apple or orange instead of just drinking the juice. You miss out on nutrients and fiber when you injest only the juice, and the fruit as a whole has a lower glycemic index than just the juice.

What has this got to do with finasteride.
Pls dont stray away from the topic...

How dare you.

Anybody know if there is a link between apples, oranges and male pattern baldness?

This is the best I could find...

I highlighted the connection between apples and oranges. But in general it has not affect.

There are no comprehensive patient surveys of hair transplant patients because there are no mutually shared databases for patients undergoing cosmetic procedures. Also it would be unethical for physicians to make their database available to outside sources for profit or science. Patients could only become part of a universal database by first volunteering their demographic and procedure data in writing.

I agree it would be unethical for doctors to share their databases with other organizations pursuing a profit, but in what way is it unethical if they share their database in the interests of science? The survey I describe would surely fall under the category of social science, psychology of hair loss, psychology of cosmetic surgery, etc., Also, what’s stopping physicians from asking their patients if they wouldn’t mind being contacted about their satisfaction? The patient can always say “Noâ€￾.

On the other hand, many physician groups do perform patient surveys to gauge their patients’ satisfaction and to accumulate data for research.

Where is this research published, such that prospective consumers can access it?

If you are interested in a physician to perform your surgery you may be surprised to find out he has done extensive surveys to his own patient database already.

I applaud hair transplant physicians who actually do this, but such surveys are only useful to the doctor for improving his own skills. They are of no value to a prospective patient. How can any would-be customer trust such a survey when it is conducted by the organization that the survey purports to study? What checks are in place to insure that the results presented to the prospective patient aren't tweaked, or outright fabricated? That’s why auto consumers read Consumer Reports, JD Powers, etc., instead of taking the word of the auto salesman. That’s why TV advertisers pay fees based on viewership data from AC Nielsen, instead of taking the word of the networks.

I can already hear the protestations: "But you're comparing apples to oranges. Doctors are not slimy car salesmen or Madison Avenue types! Doctors take a hipocratic oath. Doctors are here to serve mankind." BULLSHIT! Doctors have no special immunization against greed. One could argue that the high cost of becoming a doctor (both $$$ and a youth sacrificed to the demands of med school, internship, residency, etc.,) might provide even more of an incentive for doctors to put income ahead of a patients interests.

Funny, I've been a hair transplant patient/customer since late 1985, and my previous doctor has never asked me how I liked the results, via a formal survey or otherwise.

Ummm...I think you have it backwards.

I suggest that you give Propecia and Proscar tablets a bite or two prior to swallowing, just to break them up into at least a few separate pieces. The same goes for ALL medicines and nutritional supplements, unless they're specifically designed to be a "time-release" formula.

A few years ago a trusted family member of mine had a very unusual experience: she noticed that a pill she had taken (it was for hypertension) passed all the way through her intact! Ever since then, I've never taken for granted that tablets and capsules are always digested properly. DON'T TAKE CHANCES WITH MEDICINES AND SUPPLEMENTS. Chew them up a little. Don't swallow them whole, unless they're time-release formulas.

Put a Proscar or Propecia pill in a glass of water and see how fast it dissolves.

Just take it as a suppository. That way, it will even get to workin' at your prostate much faster. Apparently this is the new rave for gay, balding men -- it's like v****-infused-Propecia. Or at least that's what TynamW tells me.

This is true, out on the 'hair scene' at the moment most toilets are filled with large leather clad moustached men forcing tiny blue pills up their 'bin laden's cave' and the few who cannot afford finasteride in one of its many forms use applea and oranges, it is from these cubicles that I hear the loudest screams.

Chewie, you really need to a Biology 101 lesson man.

You need to have a basic grasp of how the human body works.

My theory is that the Israelis have Bin Laden and are keeping him stowed away somewhere. One week they will tell the U.S., "Bin Laden is in Afghanistan!" and the next week, "Bin Laden is in Iraq!", until the U.S. has not only obliterated all of Israel's sworn enemies (i.e. 90% of the Middle East) but has also destroyed its reputation among the international community. Then the Jews can easily swoop up whatever part of America they don't already control.

So far, I think I'm right ... I think this week it's, "Bin Laden is in Iran!" :freaked:
