Under the side effects it mentions "lower libido and sex drive"

I'm 2 weeks on finasteride I was expecting to sacrifice some of my libido but it feels as if my sex drive increased 2x, also, a few years ago I lost "morning woods" for some unknown reason, now I'm getting them back every morning, my ejaculation is also much more intense and I'm not experiencing any testicular pain.

Is it because I'm still too early in the medication? I did a few minutes of research, many say it's because when you use finasteride, there is more free testosterone floating in your body because it's not turning into DHT. any truth to this?

All I will say is finasteride is a strange drug, it has such different effects in people, yet works where we want it 99% of the time.

I take 0.5mg EOD and my mood has been in such a stable state since I started the drug, not something I expected at all. I wonder if my hormonal levels actually became stable with the drug.

When I first started finasteride last october I noticed a dramatic increase in libido, but also a very painful left testicle. My Libido has been up and down, but that could be caused by a variety of other problems or worries. Since you've only started taking it 2 weeks ago I wouldn't worry too much about it, if it returns to normal I guess that's a good thing. If it stays the same however I'm sure the lucky lady(s) in your life will be pretty. With regards to the last statement regarding Testosterone levels being higher than normal, research has shown that finasteride can increase levels of free testosterone. For this reason it is banned in most professional sports, because athletes could use it as a way to mask other PED's that may also contribute to higher levels of testosterone.
