Finasteride + grapefruit juice

I know some people drink grapefruit juice with their finasteride because g.fruit juice inhibits the enzyme that metabolizes finasteride, and that extends its half life.

but I was wondering if this would make the actual dose of finasteride a stronger/larger one? by this I mean if I take .50mg, would the juice make it the equivalent of taking .75mg or 1mg?

This is interesting.

I've read that Cialis (the ED drug) and grapefruit juice should NOT be taken together - apparently they are both processed by the liver and this would 'overcharge' it or something like that.

I have no idea if finasteride and grapefruit juice can be combined, but I'm looking forward to reading replies to this thread.

I remember this coming up years ago and the same thing is advised with propecia as cialis if I remember rightly. Best not to mix the two.

Yes, it would make it a stronger/larger one. I don't know if it would have that much of an effect on the effective dose of the finasteride (like doubling it), but yeah, it should increase it at least some. May not be worth the cost of the grapefruit juice! :)

Thanks Bryan!

I appreciate the information... from what you explain it is the effect I was hoping to achieve... :)
