finasteride dosage question.

Hi. I am 22 and about to start treatment and just have a question concerning dosage for finasteride. I am going to buy proscar and cut it into 4th's, however i was wondering about peoples thoughts on going on a higher dosage in the initial stages of treatment. Could this be benefitial or is it a dumb idea?

I do know that Proscar is cheaper then Propecia if you cut the tablet into 5 pieces. My doctor gave me a prescription to 5mg Proscar. I think you should be alright if you cut into 4 pieces as well.
