finasteride Dosage Frequency

Random question, but given the normal finasteride dosage/effect curve

Is there all that much benefit to actually taking it daily as opposed to every two days? Seems that by taking a single dose 3-4 times a week you could keep a very consistant serum dht level while at the same time decreasing your cost by a good margin.

Do any of you think there is real benefit to taking it daily or do you think it's just not going to hurt you so they prescribe it daily to be easier to remember?

It's impossible to really know without trying it I would say. Taking a pill every two days could be effective for some, may not be for others. No way to really know without trying it. If there's one thing I have learned about finasteride it's that the whole idea behind it is a very inexact science, you never really know what you're going to get from it.

Well, I have experiemented with various dosages and found that they ALL seem to work. Granted, I might not have given each a long enough cylce to see if they DON'T work, but I've done 1mg a day, 1mg every M-W-F, and now I am on 1.25 every M-W-F, and 1mg on Sunday morning.

I think that you could get by taking 1mg every other day. But remember that the studies ONLY discuss the results of those taking it daily. So you might drift from the 83 percent.
