finasteride and Seborrhoeic Dermatitis

Hey, I was wondering does anyone know if finasteride can exacerbate Seborrhoeic Dermatitis (SD)? I started finasteride around the start of December, Mon-Wed-Fri, had to stop a couple of weeks before Xmas because I was starting a course of anti-biotics which seemed to interact with finasteride, so after I finished the anti-biotics I restarted the finasteride and noticed my SD was getting worse, flaky forehead, red patchy, itchy spots etc .......

So I stopped finasteride for about a week and a half and I noticed it was getting better, in my mind I was hoping it was a coincidence so I re-started my regimen on Monday, and I noticed today that my forehead is getting more flaky, itchy and red .....

Could the increase in Testosterone from the finasteride be the cause of this? Is there any chance my body will regulate because I don't wanna stop the finasteride for obvious reasons, but when my forehead is flaky and red it's not exactly aesthetically pleasing.

nizoral doesn't really work for my SD.

Try Selsun Blue or something with selenium sulfide. Really helps. As does cutting out sugar.

Thanks for the suggestion lads, but I'm not sure its the SD, my forehead and parts of my face just break out in a rash like blotches and dry skin when I restart the finasteride, no sexual sides.

Looks like my skin, primarily my forehead, has reaction everytime I take it. Maybe I'll try Proscar from this site as opposed to Finpecia, chances are I'll get the same reaction but I need to do something.

:thumbdown2:

I might add that I take it Mon-Wed-Fri ...... Maybe taking like that is making my hormones fluctuate thus causing my forehead rash/dry flakes along my hairline .... ?

I don't know. I guess I might just give topical spironolactone a go.
