finasteride and eyebrows

Hypochondriac question, guys...

I am trying to rule things out here.. Since I quit finasteride, I noticed my hair thinned like crazy ("normal", i guess, right?).. But today I noticed my eyebrows are super thin on their outside half.. Hypochondriacly googling it, I found that it could be a sign of hypothyroidism... I have done some blood work recently, but results didn't come back yet..

You guys think it is normal, that finasteride would also work on the eyebrows, making them fuller? Is this my normal eyebrow (without the help of finasteride) ?

Wait for bloodwork results first. If they come back neg. then it's certainly feasible

that your shedding might be post finasteride."fallout" related.

Would you say you were a good responder to finasteride.?

What made you quit?

As far as I'm aware finasteride. will not cause/compound or resolve thyroid issues.

thanks for your reply.. I would say I was a very good responder, yes.. well I started taking finasteride when i was around 24yrs (can't precise), but I remember taking it as a preventive measure. By looking at my old pics now, I can see I had thinning on the temples - maybe this was what took me to start meds back then. I am 38 now.

During this time, my hair stayed basically the same. I remember I quit (for no more than 1 or 2 months ) in 2009 - have pics from that time where my temples had almost gone. Then, fast forward to 2015 - temples restored.

I decided to quit because I'm an idiot, and some friends came to know I was taking it and told me it was a dangerous drug, would cause me cancer, etc etc.. I confess I knew nothing about how it worked, never bothered me. It worked, that's all I needed to know. I took it like a morning vitamin pill. Never had a single side - never knew they existed.

So, I then decided to quit (my hair was good anyways that thing might not even be doing anything and still a poison), 2 months after I feel like I have some disease because all my hair has thinned (even on the sides), and is just disappearing on the top.

I think I will resume it tomorrow, at 0.5mg ED. And hope for the best. Maybe in 5 or 10 yrs from now I won't care and just shave it.


note: one thing I did and regret - I quit "cold turkey". Maybe that caused a shock on my system and triggered the massive thinning/shedding?
