Random question.

Let's say, we've got a kid who is genetically dispositioned to have male pattern baldness due to his family history. Fortunately the male pattern baldness has not yet started. He is worried about hair loss, he thinks he has male pattern baldness, but his hair loss is due to ...."lack of vitamins"

So this kid like any other young kid worried about male pattern baldness hops on finasteride.

Doing this, is there a possibility that it can commence male pattern baldness?

No, I really doubt Finasteride would commence male pattern baldness since it's used to slow/stop hair loss. It wouldn't make any sense to get on a medication to prevent hair loss, then have the medicine to make it start.

According to the story that you made, it also depends on how aggressive the male pattern baldness is in his family history. If his family history has mild and slow male pattern baldness, he could probably maintain his hair with Finasteride. If his family history has super aggressive male pattern baldness with slick bald NW7s, then Finasteride would probably just slow the progression if he got the genetics.
