P.S: I'm a great believer in propecia and been using it for almost a decade with fair results and no side effects but this worries me.

A prostate cancer specialist doesn't agree with the FDA on this, as you will find in an interview I linked to. It's up to you to decide; I think it's slightly troubling, but the link is not nearly significant or conclusive enough for me to quit finasteride because of it.

If you are already at risk for prostate cancer, or if it runs in your family, it might be something you want to talk to your doctor about.

Women who take "The Pill" have a statistically higher chance of cancer and heart attacks later in life. It's a trade-off that people are willing to make.

Also, the risk of prostate cancer overall actually DECREASES by a noticeable %.
