Ok so Ive been using rogaine a little over a month now and Ive experienced regrowth... Ive got several what are now black hairs a few mm's long...

but, Im still losing hair... which is confusing me.

So, today I bought some nizoral shampoo the 1% stuff. Will this help me any as in preventing dht from doing its thing? Is the 1% enough and can you get the 2% without a prescription?

Im really wanting to stay away from propecia b/c of the associated side effects... so I want to stick to topicals as much as possible. Is there a topical product like rogaine but for dht inhibition?

Thanks a lot for the responses.

I am seeing regrowth in my temples but my hairline also looks like its receding more. I dont know about nizoral. For DHT inhibition some use xandrox which is minoxidil with azelaic acid but im not sure it works. spironolactone is another topical.

i experienced something similar. I began seeing regrowth on my temples, then it later seemed like my hairline was still receding, which seemed counterintuitive. if finasteride was working enough to cause new hair to grow in, then how could existing hair be falling out? well, i gave it time, and i now realize either it was in my head or it was just some localized shedding in an area that was previously negatively affected by dht and currently positively affected by finasteride. now my hairline looks fine.

Genetics seem to have a time-line. Everyone loses hair at a certain rate in a certain area at a certain time of life. Receders are more acceptable.
Diffusers are the worst of all. You can't get any respect. It looks so bad.

That's me. you can stop the madness. Do your research.
