into my 4th month on generic 1 mg finasteride.

since the last 4 days i've been experiancing this slight dull sort of pain on the left side of my chest. its a weird sensation.

I dont know how to tell if i'm going through the very first signs of gyno. I definitely have a little flab on my chest towards the lower peck on each side, but i had some of that before finasteride too... its from when i used to work out and then i left it, my chest went a bit flabby on me.

anyway...the pain is towards the left side, and now it looks weird to me too. the left side of my chest does not look the same as the right. its just a little 'droopier' towards the bottom.

my nipples are not bigger and have not puffed up. my shirt gives me no discomfort like some people with gyno complain of.

how in the world do i tell if this is gyno for sure? any other signs? i cant feel any lumps . i dont want to wait till its obvious before i ditch finasteride.

No puffiness, no enlargement of nipple, no lumps = no gyno, so I don't think you need to be too worried but obviously monitor the situation.

Yeah the chest pain is something guys experience. Its inside. Its definitely not gyno.

My only theory is that its related to suppression of DHT in various tissues of the body ... either way its very disconcerting.

This reminds me of good ole John Ross (in photo gallery section) ... one of the very first chatters on Hairlosstalk 7years ago. His reason for being here? Chest pain from Propecia.

Naturally Bryan scoffed (bryan isnt always right!! LOL ) ...

But yeah ...

If I were you I would stick with it awhile longer. Give it another 2-3 months. Just be aware and listen to your body. If its really telling you something is not right, then stop the finasteride and get on spironolactone+Reivogen.

I hung in there because I was desperate to keep my hair. I did not think Revivogen or spironolactone together would work. I was willing to put up with the pains and aches and epididymitis because though I knew Rev had data backing it, I wasn't willing to drop Propecia for it. For obvious reasons. Compare the data! ...

Anyways .. listen to your body and see if things go away. Make sure you are using 1mg daily, consistently. If you want to make it even easier on your body, take it at the same time every day. Minor thing but maybe it will help your body adjust and reach equilibrium again faster. Who knows.

Good Luck!
