Effectiveness of Minoxidil

Taken from rogersclinic.com

"Minoxidil is not very effective - users can see benefit from reduced hair loss and even some regrowth but most of the hair tends to remain fine, wispy and pale".

If this is the case whats the point of using it?

Has anyone actually achieved solid regrowth results from the use of minoxidil?

The one who wrote that has probably seen too many (or been) a non-responder. Responders tend to not wreak havoc on forums, shouting out in grief.

Some people have results, others do not. "Most of the hair tends to remain fine, wispy and pale" is not a general rule, but merely an observation.

It is the only approved regrowth-treatment. No one will force you to give it a chance. If it scares you more than your hairloss does, don't use it.

It was actually the doctor from rogersclinic.com that stated this, not a "non-responder", check it out.

In my experience most MDs, including the dermatologist with whom I consulted, don't have a clue about hair loss or hair loss treatments. I have had good results with minoxidil and copper peptides, used together. I was very thin on the crown and vertex, and although I'm still thin at the crown (but a lot thicker), my vertex has filled in to the point where my hair gets tangled, something it hasn't done for years.

That was exactly why I said "has probably seen too many (or been)". ¤_¤

It works, but it's not great. I'd got some regrowth, and it slowed down my loss. But it did make my hair overall kinda crappy. I think part of the problem is it has alcohol in it, which dries out your hair, and the regrowth isn't as good as healthy, non-baldy hair. Hoping propecia will be better. I got tired of putting that stuff on my head everyday.
