Effect of toppik on hairloss.. can it make things worse?

Guys,

Quick background. I've been on propecia for roughly 4 years now. After one year, I was much thicker and was happy with my hair, but I always had up and down cycles. At the 2 year mark, I decided to ride out another shed by using toppik everyday, but only this time things never got better (i had 4 or so cycles before this time were things got back to at least baseline). Since then (for the past two years), I've been using toppik everyday and everything has gone to hell. I've moved from a NW2 to pretty much a NW3 with heavy diffuse thinning all over.

Can toppik halt hair growth? The only other change I made was dropping folligen (only used it twice a week or so before that time).. I'm thinking of getting back on it now.

I don't use anything else besides tricomin. I have pretty bad side effects from finasteride (brain fog, sexual side effects) but have been plugging along .. god knows why. I've tried minoxidil in the past with horrid side effects of bloating and body hair all over. I'm thinking of using lipoxidil's 3.3% as I've heard this is less systemically absorbed.

any thoughts would be appreciated.

the only thing toppik can possibly do bad is slow absorption of minoxidil if you apply the minoxidil after applying toppik. I don't see how it could cause hair loss. Not showering for a month at a time will not cause hairloss. I know this because some very smelly, hairy guys have bought stuff from me where I work, and I just stand 10 feet back from the register while I ask them what they want, and then hold my breath when I ring them up.
