checking on my family history, it seems that my mum doesnt suffer from pattern baldness and my dad has lost all his hair at my age currently. But i seem not to follow my dad.....I only am a NW2.5. Maybe it is mum who is saving me...

THis poll is to find out dad's infleunce on complete baldness.

Citeria: If u have complete baldness ro somewhere close the same wat as yr dad at your curent age, please vote provided your mum does not have pattern baldness and your own baldness is complete (slick bald on crown)

The best I can tell is that my hairloss resembles my Uncle and Grandfather/great uncles on my mom's side

Think my dad was complete bald at age 24, wheareas i am not and i started propecia only 6 months ago ......I am Norwood 2.5 with a small vertex thinning...

6 months on propecia wont really save u from going bald if u are identical to yr dad...even befoe treatment my hair loss was very slow and gradual and not overnight.....

Actually, my Dad was bald by the time he was in his late 30s:( Thankfully I'm not there yet and I'm past 40 :hairy: It looks like I have at least stopped the hairloss for now anyway.

the recent research about baldness nheritance from mum may be true afterall. They stated that the gene resides in the X and probably dad contributes regulatory genes which may mean the onset, severity of hair follicles ect.

That just doesn't explain why my mom's father (my grandpa) still has a full head of hair at age 68.
