Early Recession At 22

Noticed my hairline was thinking and going back 6 months ago. I can tell is got worse in only 6 months. I never imagined i would have male pattern baldness and I'm pretty sure this is the start to complete baldness since it's already happening at this age. Pretty depressed about it because I'm confident in my looks and get attention from females all the time and this would destroy that confidence, especially in my 20s.

Maybe in the next few years there will be better hair restoration meds and procedures? I'm too scared of the finasteride side effects and a hair transplant is maybe an option.

I need advise..

You seem to be fine bro. It could be a mature hairline developing. How does it look in your family?

Well my dad has a mature hairline, not bald or thin though. When he was in his young 20s in was pretty straight but in his 30s and 40s it went back a bit. None of his 4 brothers are bald and some have a mature hairline.

As for my moms side, her father has a full head of hair and no recession. But his brother is bald on the top so that means there would be some male pattern baldness in my family.

If it recedes I can deal with that. I just don't wanna be bald

Prevention is the key and you are in a really good position to act if it worsen. However IMO its not worth for you to start with finasteride or mimox. Take pictures every other months and evaluate in six months if it has recceeded more. You seem to have the odds for good hair genes. Dont think about it too much.
There are alternatives which might be worth trying before jumping on finasteride. Stay observant not obsessive!

Appreciate the replies. It's hard not to obsess over it when it's becoming more and more visible as the days go by. I'll keep on the lookout. Don't think I'd ever take finasteride because of the health risks. From my research that seems to be the best drug for hair loss.

Is it normal for a mature hairline to start to develope at this age?
