Dying the hair/progress report

Dying my hair revealed a buttload of small vellous hairs that were all along the hairline, since they're now pigmented black. I always knew they were there, but not that many. Hopefully they turn into something!

After over 14 months on propecia, my hair has thickened considerably. I now towel dry my hair after a shower and see no scalp whatsoever. The thickness of my hair looks uniform all around, as opposed to flat, matted, and thin on top when I dry my hair. My only problem still remains my Norwood 2+ hairline, which looks to be improving on the right side, but the left side is a different story. I need another .5-1cm on the right side to be happy, and another 2+ cm on the left side.

Take care guys.

is this the first time you're dying your hair? .. i wouldnt suggest dying for the vellous hairs...i mean ..dont you notice hair is thinner after you dye it?.. dye is known to damage hair. and vellous hair is thin to begin with?...

i may not know much about dying ..but these chemical hair relaxers sure f*** the hell out of your hair. the first time it left my hair almost 1/4 as thin as before..and then it got worse. these relaxers also cause hairloss if they damage the follicle by touching the scalp.

i wouldnt mess with chemicals, not while losing hair anyway.

oh..and wouldnt fue'ing the temples help? wouldnt they be really cheap too? 2.5 $ / graft i think...how many grafts would be needed in the temple region? just a thought..

anyway..hope it works out for you..

To lose hair you really need to give it some stick. If you have male pattern baldness then you will lose it what ever you do.

Just a tip that i heard, but rubbing your hair with a towel is one of the worse things you can do to your hair, according to a dermatologist i saw once. Towel drying or dabbing the towel on your haed is okay but the rubbing causes the hair to break and look thin and unhealthy.

Take it or leave it. :p

Deaner, way to go man! I noticed that when I was using Grecian formula on my temples that my vellus hairs were pigmenting and standing out more and gave my hairline the appearance of being a bit thicker. I didn't mind that a bit of course. But congratulations on the improved thickness of your hair.
