dutasteride has LESS side effects than finasteride? How? This can't be real. If this is serious I might think of getting on dutasteride/adding it into my daily regime.

the whole type 1 reduction and the fact that its proven type 1 is found in the brain, is a big no no for me. I mean finasteride already gets me a little more tired than i usually am, i could only imagine what dutasteride would do.

Yes that's whats putting me off atm, Type 1 is found in vast amounts of the brain, inhibiting that, we don't know what the long term effects are, only study is about 5 years. If it weren't for that I'd be on dutasteride 0.5mg/day today.

This is a very small difference and 5 mg of finasteride is 5 times higher than the recommended dose for male pattern baldness. It makes sense to think that therefore sides are higher for people who use 5 mg compared to people who use 1 mg a day, 1 mg eod, 0,5 mg a day etc....

Thing is 1.25mg of finasteride and 5mg has the same effect in the body.

I think you're wrong. Or else 1.25 would be prescribed for bph so obviously it's doing something more with 5mg.

The only other thing it does is have a longer half life and inhibit up to 90% DHT.
