Dutasteride Is Like Taking Four v**** :(

In one last effort to save what I have left, a couple weeks ago I decided to attempt legit dutasteride, My plan was to take 1mg once per week and monitor the only physiological response I associate with hair loss - scalp inflammation (which for myself immediately manifests to a cluster f*ck of sensations within my scalp tissue) . I figured since finasteride drastically f*cked with "upregulating my receptors", or whatever bullsh*t reaction it caused, the drastic drop in all 5-AR from dutasteride may help, somehow... but once again, will some one tell me what the f*ck I am thinking?

I take this garbage and the same night, I am rock hard with just the remote thought of sex. I was about to give up on everything but minoxidil, and, given this laughably ridiculous, bullsh*t f*cking reaction to dutas, I am thinking this is the only reasonable route.

Is there ANYONE that can explain, on a physiological basis, how this IMMENSE increase in libido is possible through simply blocking 5-AR? I know it cannot be from a slight increase in testosterone.

Since less test is converted to DHT then There is an increase in systemic test?

Since you just started maybe the body is still trying to find homeostasis and has created reflex hyperandrogenicity?

Just a couple hypotheses? You may want to seek advice of an endo as most of us aren't MDs here

my first 2 months on finasteride was literally that every day, it levelled off and my libido is pretty much where it was prior to finasteride. Its just your test spiking, give it a couple weeks.

idk man... when I started finasteride, my libido dropped in the first couple months and THEN spiked for the remaining 10

ive had different reactions too when starting finasteride, my last attempt about 8 months ago destroyed my libido, this time around is completely different, my libido is through the roof, but i also dont see my hair getting better 3 months in so i guess were all as clueless as you. Id say if your itchiness and scalp inflammation is slightly changed early on then you're doing ok on treatment.

Pretty sure dutas increased my testosterone as well. Hopefully because it's reducing DHT, which leave more test available.

I wouldn't say hopefully. My test went up on finasteride and my DHT was obliterated... HOWEVER, I lost more hair than ever. So these levels mean absolutely nothing.

Lost or shed? Big difference.

I think when after an entire year, you look like you just went through chemotherapy, that's a loss. Still have not recovered. I am damn near bald and I conclusively blame this on finasteride alone.

I don't know how that could happen... Do you have before/after pics?
