Dutasteride dose. How much should I take?

I have heard a lot of different suggestions on how much dutasteride to take. I recently ordered some Dutagen and it is in 0.5mg gel-looking capsules.

Do I want to take 0.5 mg every day? Every other day? Twice a week? What do you guys do, and what do most people do?

lol your phrasing sounds sort of weird--"dropped a freshly gained Norwood"--sounds like you meant you lost it, but that can't be right if you want to go back on it.

I had some sides on finasteride but after coming off I feel fine. I am wondering if my sides are minor enough that I can be normal on dutasteride by taking some zinc pincolate or whatnot (that stuff really does seem to boost my libido)

Here's my take on dutasteride, and what I will personally do if I switch to it....

Read this and look at the dosage chart they posted
http://www.bernsteinmedical.com/resourc ... nasteride/

.1mg of dutasteride is more effective than 5mg of finasteride. 4rx sells generic dutasteride in hard tablet form (not a liquid tablet like name brand Avodart). This enables you to use a pill cutter and quarter it. I would then quarter it and take .125mg (1/4th of the .5mg tab) every day, then skip the 5th day. That means you take an average of .1mg every day.

Reasons I would do it this way:
1: finasteride is powerful, and dutasteride is even moreso, which I find somewhat scary
2: dutasteride stays in your system longer, so skipping a day shouldn't have an adverse effect on it
3: It allows you to step up your dosage if you feel that you need to.
4: Perhaps it would minimize the shed that you'll get.

I went on dutasteride at .5mg a day for about 3 weeks to try and regrow some hair...and the hairline shed was pants shittingly scary. No joke, the hair I saw in the shower was about 2x more than it had been over the past year or so. Now, everything I'd read told me that the hair would regrow...but I just couldn't ride it out, so I went back on finasteride at 1.25mg (up from .5mg) and the hairline came back. Plenty of people have ridden out the shed and seen good regrowth, but I couldn't do it :p

I'll probably give it another go if/when my hair gets to the point where it can't be "up" in the front anymore...but right now I'm just going to stick to finasteride.

Be sure to keep us informed on how your dutasteride goes. There's not enough information on here about it, so anything you can add would be much appreciated!
