dutasteride and body hair

In theory according to current research a young man who is 15 that takes dutasteride and continues to take it until he is 35 will have no body hair, and no hairloss? The increase in testosterone wont effect him? What negative impacts would it have on him? would he develope normally?

dutasteride not only has stopped me from growing additional body hair, but my body hair has actually thinned out on my chest, stomach, arms and legs as well. noticeably. i didn't have a lot before dutasteride. if no hair is a 1 on the scale and hairy bastard is 10, i was about a 5, and now i'm about a 3.

i never really had that much arm leg hair because it was soo thin.

that were shaved, grew ever-so slowly. And in my opinion of course, this is significant and seems to hold merit, as the science connects it is becoming more clear. Since dht and puberty go hand-in-hand with each other.

To what extent is your claim? because it seems rather laughable and a tad sarcastic, Imho. Back your claim up with some evidence. Until then, it's air blowing in the wind.

I had a visible reduction in body hair, most notably on the arms. I was on dutasteride for 14 months.

I don't understand the point of your experiment. You noticed a huge difference in the strength and growth between WHAT and WHAT??

Oh sorry not to further emphasize my point. The experiment "What and What", was that I was to see if the hair that had been cut were to grow back as usual (same time ratio as unaffected hairs) and for me the overall growth
seemed suspicious. And to top it off, Before starting treatment, I could try to pull a leg hair or a chest hair but with some force. Now that I try to pick a hair off of my choosing, It comes out every time. With little to no force. This is an observation of mine. Believe it or not. The hairs also seem to have a "limp" trend now.

i also noticed a decrease in body hair. but it wasn't so much a decrease in hairs themselves, just that each individual strand grew shorter and thinner.

btw plusryan i dont think your experiment really shows anything. you'd have to time how fast your hair had grown before dutasteride, and then how fast it grows now while on dutasteride to have any idea.

But how would you KNOW if it grows back as usual (same time ratio as unaffected hairs)?

removing all dht should prevent body hair if the DHT theory is true.

I'm sure dutasteride reduces body hair a little, but I doubt it will come close to getting rid of it. I don't think DHT is good for the skin. I'm just wondering if it has any small effect on penis size in fully developed adults. Probably not, but I'm trying to use a pump to make mine bigger.

I've used dutasteride (with regain) for about 8 months now and in the last couple of weeks, now that the sun has come out more I have noticed that my body hairs have got much thinner and fairer.

I understand that decreasing DHT levels means a reduction in body hair but as yet i haven't seen much growth of hair on my head.

Is this a sign that i may start to regrow hair on my head?

For those people who have had success with dutasteride, did they have a reduction in body hairs? Thinner body hairs etc?

I've been taking Avodart since August 06. I have not noticed a decrease in body hair, it may have even gotten a tad thicker.

The temple hair is really hard to keep, not sure if it is going to survive or not, as it is looking really thin right now. I just keep my hair short. If you have any other questions, let me know.

I shave my body hair on a regular basis. Shaving used to need to be done every other day. I now shave once per week. If I let it grow in it is not as coarse and much less visible. I have had re growth in the front and back of my scalp. Very happy so far.

I would expect more dutasteride to help prevent body hair from ever happening and not really stopping or reversing it once you already have it. So I am curious if a young guy took it early and kept taking it maybe 10 years later does he have little to no body hair at much older age when other family members do? Testosterone certainly plays a pretty important role too, but you would guess DHT if stopped early enough would make a big difference but again not reverse it maybe its not possible to reverse hair growth after it starts
