Drinking alchohol is good for the hair?

Alchohol is obviousely not good for the body, though one thing I've noticed for years is that after a heavy binge drinking session the night before, my hair is thicker/stiffer and shinier in the morning.

I also watched a program on old guys who drink in the pub every day for most of their years and I noticed they all pretty much had full heads of hair!

Might be just coincidence and I wouldn't condone binge drinking to anyone! Though has anybody else noticed this with their hair after a night out on the beers? I would have thought it would yield the opposite effect.

just a coincidence, maybe if you have thick head of hair you might feel more confident therefore want to go out drinking more often
but there is no clinical evidence that any hairloss benefit is gained or lost when drinking

since alcohol is bad on the male hormones and promotes female hormones, there might be a minor effect, but it's probably only noticable for people who drink 24/7

but do you really want to be a sad old man in the pub all day or on the street drinking even if it meant you had a full head of hair?

Do you pour it on your head? Otherwise, how do you imagine it has an effect on your existing hair thickness/shininess?

If I remember correctly, alcohol thins the blood, which might, in the long run, have some effect on hair growth -- but I haven't seen reliable evidence of this. There are drunks with bad hair, too.

This is silly and in your head. Nothing that you ingest is going to have any effect on your hair overnight.

It isn't possible.
