i'm only 17 and i've noticed that my hair have been fallin for a few month now, now i don't know if this is sheddin or hair loss, but this is scaring me.
Ever since i got back from my long distance trip from china last summer, my hair didn't stop fallin, i noticed a few month ago that my hair thickness is gone, everyday i wake up, i can see a few hair on my pillow and bed.
When i shower, there are always some hair on my hands, and then when i dry myself off, a few hair is left on my towel.
This is really scaring me, because i am only 17, i don't know what is happening to me, but hopefully i'm not gonna be balled by the age of 20, i just hope there will be some answers here to cheer me up

Before anything know that the avg. person can shed btween 100-150 hairs a day. Do you notice any recession or thinning anywhere? this is what is looked at most of the time to determine whether its Male Pattern Baldness or not. If it continues to concern you, go see a dermatologist or a hair specialist and let them give you an opinion, the best thing ot do is stay proactive about it, Good Luck

well... the only thing i noticed is that when i put my hand through my hair i can feel that the amount of hair there have been reduced by alot, like when i'm walkin, if a gust of wind blows by, my hair will get blown up, maybe that's a sign of my hair bein thin?

yeh, i had long hair when it started to thin and noticed the same exact thing, i was in denial for a long while b4 i went to a Doctor. and got finasteride. I def. reccomend goin to a Doctor and gettin his opinion. Most likely he will tell you its Tellogen Effluvium (many hairs on head entering resting phase at the same time, in turn leading to their falling out) or its male pattern baldness. Telogen Effluvium is a part of male pattern baldness and in some cases Telogen Effluvium is the start of the process. If you are diagnosed w/ male pattern baldness there are proven treatments out there for you to try, all of which you can read about on this discussion forum.

Edit: O yea, also Tellogen Efflvium can occur and not have anything to do with Male Pattern Baldness. It can occur from things like intense stress and that nature. In this case once the cause is removed he hair will grow back to normal
