Hey guys, I am already on finasteride for 1 and half years. finasteride halted the hair loss in , my crown area pretty well, but my temple hairs continued to thin. You can see what my hairline looks like in this post:

I tried Rogaine for 1 month in the past, I only applied it to my temple. I don't think it did anything but made the surrounding hair shed quite bad. So I got scared and quit.

On the Rogaine manual it does say only apply it to the top of your scalp, so I am wondering if Rogaine is only effective on the vertex rather than temple? If there is a real benefit I would definitely stick with it for a longer period.

Thanks in advance.

If you're on finasteride their is a chance of temple regrowth. I'm having success in the area on a finasteride, minoxidil, and topical spironolactone regimen with copper peptides thrown in 4-5 days a week, although I'm sure it's the finasteride and minoxidil mostly responsible for the success. Give it a shot but be sure not to throw in the towel if you have start shedding---minoxidil will not cause you to permanently lose hair.

I regrew all my hair, which was temple loss, using rogaine.

But I missed a day of applications ONCE due to travel, and I lost it all.

What a jip!

Rogaine works well but you cannot miss a dose.

I swear I regrew all my hair twice, and I'm going on my 3rd time now...With more knowledge and a streamlined arsenal. Its going good so far definitely use rogaine for temples.

i dont think thats the case. I've been on minoxidil for over 7 months, probably missing 2 applications a month, and i have not had any hairloss.

lol, this is simply not true. I've missed maybe 5 applications in 5 months, and my hair is still strong.

Sounds crazy doesn't it...

What I actually meant was a days worth of minoxidil treatment. So 2-3 applications.

This has actually happened to me twice, both times I was using only minoxidil as treatments.

The higher the minoxidil dose, the more unstable results become. In my opinion. You can regrow more with higher doses, but you have to work harder to maintain it.

I know a lot of people who use low-dose minoxidil (2% or 5% once daily) with great success, but have missed weeks or even a month before without any drawbacks. So I really think it depends on HOW dependent your hair is on minoxidil.

ive been using 5% foam for about 8 months now. My hairline has thickened up quite a bit since using it. My temples didnt regrow much though....i got tiny hairs growing on them but they arent thick enough to really notice.
