does male pattern baldness make your hair softer?

hey yall. I've been losing hair for a good year and a half, but it's hard to say as I just noticed it last august. Before that I had noticed that my hair seemed softer than it used to, but I attributed this to a new shampoo. My hair is definitely thinner now, but it seems thinner and softer all over, not just the hairline and the crown. does male pattern baldness (which I know I have) cause your hair to become softer in the miniaturization process? I also wonder how much could be due to stress, because a few months ago I was EXTREMELY stressed, to the point of losing 15 pounds in less than 2 weeks, and I only weigh 130 lbs anyway.
thanks

The hair itself gets thinner, less strong so it probably gets softer.

as apoc says it gets thinner and it can also feel lifeless, especially in the front of the head where recession starts. you may see hairs in the front of your hairline start to just hang there like a limp dick.

i would say yes, because "softer" hairs are going to be less thick, which is part of the miniaturization process
