Does finasteride dosage depend on your Norwood scale?

I've noticed that everyone seems to have a different dosage of finasteride. Does it depend on your Norwood scale? I'm probably about a Norwood 3 with frontal diffuse thinning. I was just prescribed 1/4 Proscar tab every second day (three times a week) and was told that if I did experience any sides, I could drop it to twice a week.

Does anyone know if there is a general rule of Norwood thumb when it comes to prescribing finasteride?

Finasteride's "dose" is not dictated by a Norwood level. Standard dose is 1mg daily. Some guys do experiment with different doses and frequency of administration... However, it is just that; an experiment :wink:
