I'm 18 years old, turning 19 in a few months, (May) and I have a dermatologist appointment tomorrow. I'll probably be starting finasteride. On top of all the side effects I've heard though, I now hear it can decrease your facial and body hair, is this true? Now I'm fairly certain I'm done with puberty and have been since about 15 or so. I can grow a fairly decent beard and I have A LOT of body hair, my chest, stomach, I'm pretty hairy, and I enjoy being hairy. I saw some threads saying finasteride has slowed their facial hair growth and made them lose density with their body hair, that it's thinner, etc. How much truth does this have? Should I be concerned? I don't want to end hairless throughout my body, I worry enough about that over my head, lol

Why do you enjoy being hairy? What is good about that?I am also hairy and i f*****g hate it!You can always use minoxidil for your beard if that is your problem.

It suits me and I've gotten good responses over it. I don't want to look pre-pubescent. To each their own I guess. And I wouldn't want to use minoxidil on my beard and become dependent on it for facial hair, my beard is thick as it is, that wasn't my question.
