Does anyone use just glue for a lace base?

As in the title. Wearing full lace for the first time and I’m not keen on how thick the tape feels.

Yes. And I love it. I shave my head to the size of my toupee - I wear 7x9, which is bigger than my thinning area, but I like the size.

I paint Ghostbond XL directly onto my scalp & it holds extremely, extremely well.

I was highly disappointed I couldn't use tape for a long time, but now I prefer White Glue to Tape, as a full head bond just feels better than alternatives (tape along the perimeter, etc).

If you don't keep the piece on for too long - I de/re every 7 days - the glue stays on the scalp, and doesn't seem to transfer onto the lace in a way that'd lend itself to annoying cleanup.

Use thinner tape.

Do a tape/glue hybrid.

But many folks DO do a full head bond (all glue).

Thanks guys!

Any suggestions for very thin tape?
Walker Taper, Lace Front Support (NOT the "thin", which is impossible to handle).

Do you do a full head bond or just perimeter?

Don't you find that it negates the benefits of the system being breathable when you do a full head bond?

curious on this also

I have lace with poly perimeter, wondering if I could just put glue on the poly section so as to avoid having to cut tape etc. I find it super hard to get right and it takes me absolutely ages!

Berdon, I always found it a nuissance too - although it's ultimately much less hassle than using tape.

Jimlad - I don't know; I switched to UTS pretty recently & attributed the lack of ventilation to the full poly. You bring up a really good pt I didn't consider. I'm not sure how much the glue is contributing to the discomfort of using UTS

I've switched from tape to glue perimeter, but I paint a 'cross' across my scalp so that there isn't this billowing bit of unattached wig in the middle of my head.

I must admit, I'm finding full lace to be a MASSIVE learning curve. I had UTS down to the ground, and its ease of use was an enormous plus for me, but yeah, I've basically destroyed my lace piece in 11 days!!! Booked in for a new system in a month's time and will go again!
