I wish i did what you are doing. I got a transplant before ever trying finasteride, then after 7month of finasteride doing nothing I jumped on duta, another 8 month later actually looked into hairloss and discovered this forum . Could have saved a lot of hair...
Sidenote. Depending on your hairloss and donor area density you might not always be able to get a hair transplant and fix the problem. My surgeon told me I have roughly 6k grafts total, 2k already used up to return from Norwood 2.5, and gave me a density of 1/4-1/3 of my actual hair density. considering my loss it is very clear that even by using up all of the donor grafts i will be able to cover half my head at best (for good density).
Would definitely do all that too. I think your most powerful combo by far is finasteride and microneedling. Oral castor oil I’ve heard good things. I’m still in the process of confirming my hair loss isn’t male pattern baldness since i got it after Accutane and my family doesn’t have the history for it. Dermatologists are so useless since they’ll look at you and think that your hair loss isn’t bad but they don’t realize I’m not worried about now, I’m worried about the progressionIf i had to do it over this is how I would go about it. Topical min didn't work for me.
1. finasteride + oral castor oil
2. Microneedling
3. CB
4. Topical min to microneedling
5. topical finasteride
6. oral min if topical still doesn't work
7. PG protocol
8. transplant

It’s honestly why I consider some hair loss you tubers like Derek or Kevin Mann the best resources to stopping hair loss. I wish their consultations prices were cheaper. I’m going to see a hair specialist soon so maybe they’ll be useful. If not I’m just gonna do my own blood testsCator oil is just incredible, though atm I don't see results but I would never expect it to work as a monotherapy. I agree with you, general practitioners and a lot of dermatologists don't know much. Originally I had to teach my family doctor what dht and 5ars are, and when I asked for a DHT test he said he didn't know any labs that do it, there are literally 3 within 20min drive radius that I called and confirmed.... Gathering all info I need to request of him before my next call. Its really frustrating that getting quality professional help is this hard, but not to blame them considering that they need to treat every single health issue the people have as a front line defense.
