Doctor Visit

Hey everyone. I just got a new job that provides me with health insurance, allowing me to do something i haven't been able to do for a while: go see a doctor! Hooray! Although i'm fairly sure that i have male pattern baldness, i would still like to get checked out, maybe have some blood work done to make sure that there are no other causes for my hair thinning.

So here's my question: I have been taking proscar for a couple weeks now. I know that finasteride alters the hormones in my body. Will this affect the results of the test? Could this lead a doctor to misdiagnose me? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

no it won't affect it at all. he'll check your thyroid etc. finasteride can affect your prostate diagnosis. i'd tell him anyway though so he has it in mind.
