Do You Think I'm Balding Or This Is Normal?

I don't know.. but I really think am balding? or at least the begging of it ? i'm almost 25 ... my father and his brothers are bald ... non of my mother's brothers are bald and I've been told that I took after my mother .... anyway here are some pictures, from the side it looks kinda Ok but top view looks not so Ok ..

If there is no thinning anywhere and you arent dropping hairs in shower and if you are receding slow then I would just let it go for now and not use meds. Otherwise I would start finasteride.

No thinning, and I lose hair in the shower like anybody but I don't think it's abnormal. regarding the receding, from the attached photos, do you think there is any receding?

ok update:

took another photos and i'm 100% balding i even asked my bald father and he said yes there is some recession. i feel depressed and i need to start on medications immediately what can i do guys?? please help.
i don't know if this is only mature hairline but it sucks this is like NW1 i think

It does look like the beginning of some recession, unless you've always had that hairline and widows peak when young. No one an tell you how aggressive it will be.

You bald father,what age did he start balding, and how fast did it go? What norwood now?


Research the big 3. If you made up your mind you want to treat this, look into taking finasteride and a shampoo with ketoconazole(this helps with dandruff, although I dropped this about 6 months as I felt I did not need it anymore). first for about a year before adding minoxidil.

Opinions may differ.

I really think you should just watch your hairline and not start medications right now. It’s rare but propecia and rogaine have the potential to make hair worse, sometimes dramatically so. It’s worth the risk if you are definitely balding but there is no way to say that.

IMO try rosemary and oral castor oil

I’m sorry to bother you guys first of all, thank you all for your helpful responses but i’m still confused.

Today I was taking a shower and took a look at it again, somthing I forgot to mention, I remember few weeks ago, I shaved some hairs for some reasons on the right side that’s why it looks receded more than the left side. but i’m not sure if the left side (the not shaved one) is normal or receded a bit, it looks normal to me from today’s pictures but I realllllly don’t know anymore.

I want to be 100% sure of my situation before taking any pills.

I will uplode new pictures in another comment. Responses is needed please and soory again.

Sack your barber. He shouldn't be giving you a side line up if you've got such a prominent widows peak as that'll make it look like recession. Your hair looks pretty solid to me. Good density.

man I don’t know forget about the shaved side I made a mistake but what about the left side? In comment #7 it looks receded but in the new pictures it looks normal

Hey everyone i have an UPDATE

today I visited a dermatologist and told me there is a slight recession like Norwood 1, he wrote me a prescription of minoxidil and finasteride but i’m not sure I want to start taking them! don’t you think it’s still early for NW1 or not? should i ask another dermatologist?

One more thing yesterday i found pics of my hairline from 2012, do you see any diffrence from 2012 to 2018?

Please tell me what you think i need to make up my mind and make sure of my decision beacause i think startin minx and finasteride is a very big step

DONT do it. Every single hair loss treatment there is has the potential to make hair worse. If you read the Norwood classification nw1 is NO hairloss.

Why take a risk if you don’t need to?
