Do You Think I Might Be Diffuse Thinning?

Hi guys,

I’m 21 yo and I noticed I’ve been shedding a lot more hair than usual lately. This coincidentally began after I started applying Tretinoin. I have not been using it for 2 weeks and it seems the shedding has decreased but my family doctor doesn’t think it’s related to Tretinoin. I’m waiting on blood work results but I was hoping to get your guys’ opinion:

Family history: My dad (early 50s) has a full set of hair but it has thinned with age. No sign of hair loss on mom’s or dad’s side.

I have a dermatology appointment set up for some acne scarring but I plan on mentioning my hair as well, are there any specific questions I should ask? Also should I get started with minoxidil?

Hair looks good bro, diffuse thinning can be hard to spot when it just starts, but judging by those pictures you have nothing to worry about yet!

At this time there is no actual balding per your pics. Topical tretinoin will not cause hair loss. Oral tretinoin or isotretinoin could however.
