Do you think finasteride will help me with this diffuse thinning?

I'm nearly 21 years old, and have worn my hair long for a while. I don't know how long I've had this diffuse thinning...I think actually it's a rather recent occurrence since I have pictures of myself at age 19 in summer 2012 and my hair is short and receding a bit but there's no diffuse thinning. Maybe it's safe to say it all happened at some point in 2013. If I take a picture under the light it looks terrible, but if I'm just walking around I don't think it's even noticeable.

I've been on finasteride for about two months and I think my hairline is slowly improving...but now I'm worried about the top. I had absolutely no idea this was happening since my hair was long...how irritating.

if you respond well to finasteride, it will work like a charm for diffuse thinning, i ve seen very few people , or to be honest only one ( that is zeroheat) who got good temple regrowth. Rest of the people who had good results really imprvoed their hair density or thickness, which in either case has significant cosmetic implication for diffuse thinners. Best of luck.
