Hello there, my hair is in a dire situation, all I want to know is if by the time I'm 18 and can take finasteride there will be any worth saving at all. I always had a high hairline ( recessed even) so I can't say how fast I'm receding but I already see terrible thinning.

Albums:

Before puberty : https://imgur.com/a/kTfyD
Semi wet hair now with a picture from 2015 for comparison : https://imgur.com/a/FAguR
Dry hair with a picture from 2015 for comparison : https://imgur.com/a/w1XMd

I tried minoxidil and velus hairs appeared but I stopped because of dandruff that even nizoral wasn't strong enough for.

Could you also tell my how bad the thinning is and what Norwood am I? Thank you guys.

I dont want to scare you but things might go really bad ,really soon progressing like that .Family history of hairloss?Temples are receiding and I see some diffuse thinning around them and around the front of your scalp .My advice is to rush for a finasteride prescription asap, btw the dandruff while on minoxidil is most likely minoxidil that didn't get absorbed and dryed out on the skin a lot of people experience that you can lower the dose or a apply it on a wider region to minimize that

Agreed. You need big three treatments. finasteride minoxidil and nizoral. Otherwise ul be bald by 23. Thats bad thinning for 17

Finasteride will halt the loss if you want to take that, if you're 18 or older. In 2020 Tsuji is coming out with a cure for baldness. They are developing the equipment right now, 2020 is the date we've been waiting for. Go look at the news and research section of these forums.

Tusji will not happen mate. These cures never do. Concentrate on proper treatments we have. Thats of course if you want to. If ud rather bald without them obv thats an option too if it s not an issue to you

Id say diffuse nw2.5

All the pictures with wet and dry hair are from today apart from the ones where I said they are form one year ago.

No history of hairloss in the family, I can't get a prescription for finasteride under 18 I'm afraid.

You look to already have sideburns and be well developed. finasteride should be ok for you. You need finasteride, you have aggressive early onset male pattern baldness and naturally fine hair. You can't afford to wait another year...

Hey GoldenMane, no dermatologist would actually prescribe me finasteride, and my parents don't want me to take it either, I would still want a denser beard, I also have no chest hair and grew 1 inch in the last year, would taking finasteride stop any of these? Where do you think I'm on the Norwood scale? TBH what makes me anxious is the thinning not the receding which looks ok to me. You also were the first one to reply one year ago to me on my first post so thank you!

Wet hair looks often just bad. You have really thin hairs.

Do you have normal pictures from vertex and the sides?

the last album has them

Ok saw it.

Hmm .....
Does not look like typical male pattern baldness.
Yes you have very thin hairs for your age.

Did you check your thyroid?

What's the situation in your family? Father? Grandfather,Mother, Brothers?

I have male pattern baldness but my father with 60 has still amazing hairs for his age hahaha...Life is a b**ch sometimes :D

Dad is thinning at 40 but still is NW0, better hair than me. Got some cousins with some recession like mine but no thinning from what I could tell. Basically no one in my family is bald and only 40 years + males are thinning a bit. On the other hand all my aunts and females from my mothers line are thinning.

Strange ;) PLZ go to a specialist for the hairs! N
ot a normal doctor really a specialist dermatology + take a control of your thyroid.

already went, told me to take vitamins, took them, didn't change anything. Also no problem with the tyroid.

Since you are still a minor, you should consult a doctor (dermatologist of course) before jumping on the finasteride train. However, some of the Pics you posted seem to suggest it almost time you consider it.
I had a similar situation to yours when I was your age. I slowed it down until 30, then I had two hair transplants. You are luckier than I because you have blondish hair. It looks much better, IMO, than darker hair, when it's thin.

Blond hair is thinner than darker hair but has less contrast against white skin. When blind hair thins, it gets REALLY thin, no body at all and no coverage, but little contrast. I'd hesitate to say that one or the other is better but for hair transplants darker, thicker hair is better.
Don't remember the last topic, but no worries! What did I say to you then?

If it was me, I'd move heaven and hell to get finasteride, your beard will still thicken. Ignore your parents, ask multiple GPs or buy online...

How does this not look like typical baldness??? Since 2015 his forelock has thinned down to a central whispy fringe. Its classic thinning.

I have thyroid problem and it doesnt really affect male pattern baldness. Nor would it thin and receed him like he is.

Op.. The choice is yours.. Hair or no hair. Fina the only option frankly
