Hey guys, ive posted alot in other parts of this forum so im not sure if you know my story but basically ive got bad diffuse thinning, below is a pic i took there now just under normal light with no flash. Ive been on propecia for about 4 months and am going through a shed. The question is this judging by the pic, do i need more than propecia to get my hair looking different again. I'm quite hairy and have been put off by minoxidil, but i need to know if im wasting my time with just propecia.

to get the best results you should get onto the big 3...

however, many people have had lots of success with just propecia....

If I could go back to where you are now... I'd be on the big 3 in a heartbeat.

It's only a few more bucks per month if you go generic. The worst thing that can happen
is some side effects and I think for most that is not a problem.

I actually have the big 3 im using nizoral every second day, i just switched from proscar to finpecia and im getting a big shed. I've had minoxidil since 4 months ago but havent used it. The reason is my back and body is hairy enough and i am hoping the propecia will reduce it,

Also minoxidil is a bit of a commitment, alot harder than taking a pill in the morning and washing my hair with nozoral 3 times a week. So im not sure if i should do it.

Whats your opinions, can propecia alone get me back to a decent place ?

Looking at your hair it seems you are ideal candidate for just propecia. You're mostly diffuse with no hairline recession.

My personal feeling is nizoral every 2 days is way too much if you have no other issues like scalp inflamation or seb derm. I'd think once or twice a week is plenty.

I'd be somewhat concerned about switching to finpecia and seeing a shed - I just feel like you can't be 100% sure you're getting a consistent dosage with pills made in 3rd world countries and sold illegally online.

I'm worried about that too. But i heard that difference in dosage can be the reason for a shed?? I got them from united pharmacies, which seems to be where everyone else gets their stuff. Is there a chance they could be fake?

Hey dude. You will get mixed answers when it comes to internet pharmacies here, some hate them, some swear by them. Keep in mind, there is a greater chance of getting a fake medicine over the internet than if you get a prescription. I would stick with proscar but that's just me, tons of guys here use finpecia and buy it online and are happy.

As for your regimen, do finasteride and nizoral (twice/week) for six months. Evaluate, and then if you're still losing or want an added boost add minoxidil. If you get the foam, application should be a breeze.

Can i ask why you think proscar is better than finpecia? I like the handyness of finpecia i.e not having to cut it up.

I don't think proscar is better, propecia or finpecia like you said don't need to be cut up. I just mentioned proscar because if you get a prescription your Doctor will probably give you a merck product - propecia (which is more expensive) but you may get one for proscar and save money. If doctors are prescribing finpecia and you get it in the counter I'm sure it would be alright as well.
