Hi,

about some weeks I discovered that my hairline may have receded at the sides, exactly like NW1. I noticed that I am shedding hair aswell, but not that many maybe up to 50 a day maybe more. Moreover my hair got thin like when you wash your hair its get soft and light, I always have had really oily hair but now it changed.

The thing is that I would be first in the entire family who got male pattern baldness. My dad still got his complete hair at 63 maybe NW1 and my maternal grandfather is maybe NW1-2 at 70+. My brother is 30 and is still about NW0-1. I am 22 years old.

Sorry about the bad image quality.

The pictures aren't the greatest but it does look like you have at least some recession in the temples. I can't really tell by the angle but it looks like you're hair is around an NW2, give or take a bit. If youve been noticing this for awhile then I would visit a dermatologist in order to get this checked out. Maybe the change in hair texture is due to a scalp condition. At the same time, the soft and light hair might be due to miniaturization of the follicles. If this bothers you, I'd visit a dermatologist who specializes in hair loss. You can find one on the American Academy of Dermatologists website. Just put "hair disorders" as the specialty. The good thing is that you still seem to have thick hair everywhere else on your head and you're definitely old enough to go on finasteride without screwing up your development, so you should be able to maintain your hair for a long time. Good luck!
