So when I was growing up, my family would joke about how I would never have to worry about going bald (my dad is bald.) Because my hair was so thick it was almost unreal. However, about 4 months ago I noticed I had been shedding many hairs on my pillow as I slept and when I lifted up my hair, I had noticed my hairline was very high.
I was very worried, but family (especially my mum) told me stop being stupid and that I wasn't going bald. However, since then I have noticed that the hairline has changed shape, with either side receding about 0.5 inches more than the middle, creating a point and my temples have thinned, confirming my fear.
I was taking erythromycin at the time for my acne and immediately stopped in case this was the cause of my receding. The balding continued. I have used coconut oil and massaged it into my scalp three times a week. The balding continues.
My question to you guys is do you think this is permanent male pattern baldness, some temporary problem, or just my hairline changing due to my age? I should mention that the only bald person in my family is my dad. What should I do? My age makes me torn between decisions and its really killing me. Cheers.
