Do I Have Fake Finasteride And Minoxidil? Losing Ground All Of A Sudden

Hey so I've been on the big 3 for about a year and a half now. Ever since last summer I've actually been using a different brand of finasteride and min, since I was traveling outside the united states, and wasn't able to get my usual ones.

I bought my min from minoxidil-direct (the uk site), and finasteride 5mg I got from a local pharmacy in the country I was in. The finasteride says it is a merck subsidiary from the country I bought it from (an eastern european country).

I'm back in the states now so tomorrow I'll be going to costco to buy some more minoxidil and to a walk in clinic to hopefully get a finasteride script. It would just suck if I lost ground because I couldn't access them abroad, and had to use some fake generics.

Has anyone else had this happen to them? It could just be that my male pattern baldness is overtaking the big 3, which would really suck.

I think it is difficult to judge if you are losing ground in a treatment on a short term basis since it is difficult to measure, your hair goes through cycles of growth and shed and minoxidil and finasteride can both cause random sheds specifically in the first few months. Do you have a huge bald spot now where it was covered in hair or is it that your hair just looks/feels less full?

Looks less full, typical diffuse thinning pattern.

I just went to a walk in clinic this morning and got another finasteride script so I'll see if there are any differences.
