Dividing Finasteride (5mg) Pills

Greetings everybody.

A couple of days ago I visited dermatologist with an unrelated issue and was all of a sudden diagnosed with male pattern baldness.

The doctor recommended that I start taking finasteride and after having read quite a bit of posts from this forum I bought 5mg generic Finasteride pills. I was going to divide them in five as many people here recommend but the info that came with the pills said I cannot damage the shell by dividing or grinding the pills.

My question here: is it that important? Is it possible that in case you damage the pill shell the fluids in the upper digesting system make the finasteride decay and it just never gets to where it should be absorbed?

I'd also like an answer on this. I cut mine into 4ths and sometimes theres a tiny little bit of spill of for lack of a better term pill pebbles out from inside the pill.

Hmm... I think it's just as effective. In my experience.

For the first month i was on finasteride i was taking 1mg propecia and experienced the common side effects.
Then I saw a derm, he told me to buy 5mg finasteride and cut into 4ths because it was cheaper and the 3 months after that i was using 1.25mg cut from 5mg the same sides continued.
In my opinion, that's evidence enough that cutting the pill doesn't really change anything.

Side note: Do not worry about side effects. Hardly anybody gets sides. I think the only reason i got them is because my liver was problematic prior to taking the drug.
