Diffusely thinning from finasteride?

So I took finasteride to stop recession of my hairline.. Fast forward, at the one year mark I got scalp pain burning stinging all that and hair loss.. Now my entire scalp is thinning... That isn't even an issue in my family. Only receding hairlines... Has this ever happened to anyone else? Has anyone took finasteride and it mad them worse? I like can't even get a transplant because my hair is so damn weak now and thin. I'd have to treat my entire scalp but then I have a big *** scar on my head.

as i understand it, you shouldn't look to your father too much for how the gene will affect you. If you have the hair loss gene, then you will lose hair most likely but you don't necessarily inherit the pattern they lose it.

All the men in my dad's family started balding at the crown and then gradually balded to the front. None receded at all. yet here i am thinning at the crown and aggressively receding.
